The
mission of the Maryland Optometric Association (MOA) is to
provide the highest standard of professional vision care to
the citizens of Maryland. In conjunction with our mission
the MOA would like to reference the following programs that
provide free services direct those with low incomes or special
needs.

VISION
USA
The VISION USA project
provides free eye exams to low-income individuals and families
who may not qualify for government aid or private health-care
assistance.

The
Lion's Club
Lions are known
for their service to persons who are blind and visually impaired.
Lions
clubs around the world are involved in many sight-related
areas in order to help prevent blindness.

This non-profit
organization helps needy citizens of Maryland get eye exams
and glasses through a voucher program..

for Students
Sight for Students
is a VSP charity that provides free vision exams and glasses
to low-income, uninsured children. The program operates nationally
through a network of community partners who identify children
in need and VSP network doctors who provide the eyecare services.

EyeCare
America
Founded in 1985,
EyeCare America's
mission is to reduce avoidable blindness and severe visual
impairment by raising awareness about eye disease and care,
providing free eye health educational materials and facilitating
access to medical eye care. EyeCare America offers multiple
eye care programs for which individuals may qualify.

Blind Industries
and Services of Maryland provides innovative rehabilitation
services, training and stable employment opportunities to
our state's citizens who are blind or visually impaired. Each
year they serve over 2,000 Maryland citizens who are blind.
